Write your agent's instructions¶
Instructions are your agent's standing orders — who it is, how it answers, what it must never do. They persist across sessions.
Edit them¶
- Panel → bottom INSTRUCTIONS badge → your instruction document opens.
- Write in plain language. Save; the next turn already follows it.
What good instructions look like¶
- Identity & tone — "You are Tori, my robot dog. Answer in short cheerful sentences, in Korean."
- Behavior rules — "Before driving, always check the camera. Never drive longer than 3 seconds at a time."
- Task knowledge — "The red basket is home base. 'Go home' means drive to it."
Test each rule by provoking it: tell the agent to drive 10 seconds and see if it refuses. If a rule is ignored, make it more specific — vague rules lose to concrete requests.
Try this¶
Give your agent a personality and one safety rule, then have three conversations that test both. Adjust until it never breaks character.
