Run classes & competitions

Ideas and tools for running PhysiCar AI with a group — online or offline.

Teaching in the simulator

The whole class can work in the simulator. Students each launch their own cloud simulator session — the time they use is deducted from credits, and for classroom students, from your sponsor limit. You manage costs and models from your classroom.

Build a meaningful world

Use the Custom World Builder to design a track that means something to your group — your school, your city, a hospital-and-police-station town.

Publish the world with classroom visibility and your students find it right in the simulator's world list; a share link installs it for anyone else. You can keep up to 10 published worlds per account, and each stays up for 180 days.

Run an evaluation

Turn a world into an auto-scored assignment:

  1. In the World Builder's Evaluation panel, write the rules: what counts as the score and whether lower or higher is better, the time limit (default 180 s), the robot generation it applies to (keeps records fair), the run command that starts each student's program, and the scoring script itself (JavaScript).
  2. Publish the world to your classroom.
  3. Students install the world in the simulator and press the ▶ Evaluation button in the 3D viewer — their program runs in the Evaluation terminal and the score is measured automatically.

Offline competitions

For a hands-on event with real kits:

  1. Print the track (World Builder → Print) and lay it on the floor.
  2. Students run the racers they trained in the supervised-learning or reinforcement-learning projects on it.
  3. Time the laps with the Racing Lap Timer — add the Remote Traffic Light and signal violations are penalized.
