Build your own practice space with Custom World

The Custom World Builder lets you design your own road and scenery. What you make works in the simulator and can be printed for a real floor.

Open the builder

Open Custom World Builder (Resources → Custom World Builder). It runs in a desktop browser.

Design it

  1. Set the canvas size (metres); toggle Grid for alignment.
  2. Place points to lay out the road; adjust width and smoothing.
  3. Add floor images (crosswalk, lane markings, a logo) on the track surface.
  4. Add boxes and put an image on each face to make buildings — a hospital, a police station, a shop.

Use 3D Preview to check it, or start from a preset (a simple oval, or PhysiCar Base).

Publish & use

Click Publish to put your world on the cloud under a world ID:

Action What you get Use
Publish A world ID Install in the simulator, share, or re-open in the builder
Print A high-resolution .jpg Print a real floor track

Re-publishing the same project keeps the same world ID. Your published worlds are managed in the Publish dialog's My Worlds tab (access, copy the world ID, delete), and New → From World ID re-opens any published world in the builder.

  • Simulator — open the world list in the App's SIMULATOR header: your published worlds appear there and install with one click (or enter a world ID). Then drive / run ROS2 nodes on your own track.
  • RL training — train a reinforcement-learning racer on your track (add its name to the project's WORLDS list).
  • Real world — print the image and run your model on real hardware.
